A Dinner With Myself
A Dinner with Myself is a personal exploration of self-discovery through design, blending emotion and storytelling to reflect my journey. Inspired by my experiences and creative growth, the project transforms personal reflections into a minimal yet powerful visual narrative.

Developed as part of my academic journey, it explores how design can express identity and connect with deeper emotions—where vulnerability meets strength, and storytelling becomes a tool for meaning.

  Structure & Emotional Mapping
The book is structured as a symbolic meal, divided into four chapters:

The Starter — childhood memories and early identity struggles.
The Main — a moment of deep self-confrontation and clarity.
The Side Dishes — external influences such as mentors and relationships.
The Dessert — a sense of closure, where I begin to fully embrace myself as both a person and a designer.

The final chapter marks the beginning of my design language—where personal reflection evolves into creative clarity, shaping the values and storytelling that define my work.

Materiality & Production

This book is designed to be felt, not just read. Printed on 120 gsm textured matte paper, it offers a soft, tactile experience. Its 19 × 22 cm format sits quietly in the hands, like a personal object.

A hardcover protects the delicate perfect binding, reflecting the balance between resilience and fragility within the story. The subtle letterpress title adds a quiet sense of presence.

I photographed the book in a minimal studio setup, using soft lighting and neutral tones to echo its emotional stillness.

Reflection

A Dinner with Myself was more than a design project — it marked a moment of creative clarity. For the first time, I wasn’t designing to please, but to understand, accept, and transform.
Through this process, I found my voice as a designer—rooted in honesty, emotional clarity, and storytelling. It shaped both my visual language and my values: empathy, precision, and depth.
The response was deeply personal. People didn’t just see the work—they felt it, which showed me I was on the right path.
